Warsaw, 12 January 2017 – Just a few days after increasing the frequency of flights to Seoul, LOT has now expanded connections on the next Asian route. Starting from 3 July, new LOT’s Dreamliners will fly to Japan more often as well, offering passengers four instead of three flights per week on that route. As of this summer, LOT is going to add one more flight to the existing schedule of flights to Tokyo. Starting from 3 July, LOT’s Dreamliners will take off at 15.10 from Warsaw to Tokyo Narita every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The return flight is scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10.20. Merely four months after the launch of the flights to Seoul, the Polish carrier has decided to significantly increase the frequencies on Warsaw-Seoul route. Starting from July 2017, LOT is going to operate on that route not three but five times per week with extra flights from Warsaw to Seoul to be operated every Thursday and Friday at 16.30 and from Seoul to Warsaw on Friday and Saturday at 11.05. LOT is the first carrier in Central and Eastern Europe to connect South Korea with so many Polish and European cities. “Adding new flights to Tokyo and Seoul is the result of the ever growing interest in travelling to Asian destinations not just among passengers from Poland, Japan and South Korea. Increasing the number of flights to Seoul from three to five will allow us to offer even a more convenient product especially to the passengers travelling on business who value flexibility when choosing departure and arrival dates. On the other hand, on average, the aircrafts operating on the Warsaw-Tokyo route have a load factor over 80%, which is the best evidence that many passengers from Poland and the region need that flight to Japan. The additional flight will help to plan the journey more conveniently, making the services of the Polish airlines more attractive,” says Adrian Kubicki, Director of LOT Corporate Communications. Thanks to a codeshare agreement with ANA, the Japanese airlines, the passengers can travel on a single ticket not only to Tokyo but also to other popular Japanese destinations such as Sapporo, Sendai and Fukuoka. As a result of adding new flights to Seoul, some European flight times have been changed. For example, a new timetable of flights to Zagreb and Nice has been introduced to reduce the waiting time for passengers in transit at the Warsaw hub. Starting from the summer of 2017 the flights to Zagreb will also be operated with bigger and more comfortable Embraer 175 and Embraer 195 aircrafts. The timetable of flights on Asian destinations can be expanded thanks to two new Dreamliners that will join the LOT fleet at the peak of the 2017 summer season. The development of the network of connections is a part of LOT’s profitable growth strategy for 2020. Already in April, two completely new flights will be launched: on 3 April to Los Angeles and on 28 April to Newark. In July, a direct connection from Krakw to Chicago is planned to be launched as well. In total, LOT offers three flights to Beijing, four to Tokyo and five to Seoul every week.
