NEW STUDY NAMES MIA AS THE US"S MOST "TRANSIT ACCESSIBLE" GATEWAY
Miami International Airport (MIA) has been rankedthe most transit-accessible airport in America, according to a study released yesterday by transportation technology firm TransitScreen.
MIA received a TransitScreen MobilityScore of 66 (on a scale of one to 100).
The study analysed the 20 busiest US airports in passenger traffic and their access to buses, trains and taxis, in addition to ride-sharing, bike-sharing and car-sharing options.
The study highlighted thatMiami Central Station– the ground transportation hub connected to MIA – provides nine bus routes to various neighborhoods, while transit options at otherUS gateways mostly carry passengers straight to downtown.
Miami Central Station also houses stations for Metrorail, Tri-Rail and inter-city buses, and is adjacent to a full-serviceRental Car Centerwith 14 companies – all within one intermodal complex.
MIA is connected to the Miami Central Station by a 1.25-mile automated people mover system.

TransitScreen was launched in 2013 from a civic technology project at the Mobility Lab research and development initiative, which focused on urban mobility solutions.
